THE PROCESS, NOT JUST THE RESULT

Design

Designing a portfolio where the 3D has a purpose

The portfolio's visual center is an interactive universe, but project information must remain easy to find without it.

  • Keep the primary introduction and project links available as normal page content.
  • Give the 3D scene its own route so it can load independently.
  • Represent real projects and clearly distinguish prototypes from live work.
02
Engineering

Choosing a static-first architecture

Astro serves the content pages, while React Three Fiber is reserved for the interactive universe.

  • Avoid a backend until the portfolio has a real need for one.
  • Use structured project data to keep cards, case studies, and universe nodes in sync.
  • Deploy the generated dist directory through Cloudflare Pages.
Keep it real. This log starts with the portfolio's design and architecture decisions. Future entries should be added when a real milestone or lesson occurs, not to make the timeline look busier.
